This is (not) a Mayfest podcast
In case you missed it, we recently recorded a podcast where MAYK’s Co-Directors Kate Yedigaroff and Matthew Austin discussed what it feels like for Mayfest not to be happening this year, and what the future may or may not hold. You can listen to the podcast on the soundcloud link below, and we’ve also included a text version of the conversation below.
Our 2019 Highlights
Well, we made it to the end of 2019. Well done everyone. While the world around us seemed to become ever more polarised and divided, we were thankful for the many moments of togetherness and beauty that live performance offered us.
Here are just a few of highlights from MAYK’s year...
We're looking for a General Manager to join our team
We’re looking for a General Manager to join our team. This is a new role, and will be instrumental in MAYK’s growth over the coming years, managing the day-to-day operations and finance, and ensuring we have the resources and capacity we need to deliver on our vision and mission.
Joanne Brooks: My time working with MAYK
For the past six months MAYK have been supporting my studies by allowing me to do a producer placement with them as part of my Creative Producing MA at the University of the West of England. When I started with them at the beginning of the year I had little experience or knowledge of producing theatre in a professional environment, let alone the unique, new and exciting work that MAYK produce. Despite this, I felt instantly welcomed, respected and trusted.
MAYK gathers new board members to help lead the way into the future
We are delighted to announce that Anna Starkey is to become our new Chair, alongside five additional new board members.
Connecting visionary international artists with new audiences across England
Late last year we announced that we were successful in our bid to Arts Council England’s Strategic Touring Fund to present and tour three international participatory arts projects.
And now we can tell you what those projects are.
