Participate in the UK Premiere of HABITAT at Mayfest
Doris Uhlich’s groundbreaking choreography HABITAT is making its UK Premiere in The Galleries, Broadmead as part of Mayfest 2022. We are recruiting voluntary participants to be a part of this singular piece.
Doris Uhlich is a renowned Austrian choreographer whose work challenges conventional formats and body images, investigates the relationship between human being and machine at different levels, and explores the future of the human body in the age of its surgical and genetic perfection.
HABITAT is a visceral celebration of unity in diversity. Working with participants from across the city, Doris will create a unique choreography that illuminates the naked human body in a bold, captivating ensemble piece.
As individuals and as a crowd, performers will take over The Galleries with movement that is enthralling, energetic, and at times deeply contemplative.
We are looking for voluntary participants (aged 18+) to perform in the piece. Participants must be based in Bristol or within travelling distance and able to attend workshops w/c 23 May and performances on the weekend of 28 and 29 May. No experience or formal dance training is required. Workshops and performances will be wheelchair accessible.
