MAYK’s new climate policy

The climate crisis is shaping all of our lives in ways that feel immediate and tangible, but also ungraspable and existential. We’re keenly aware that our work has a carbon impact, but also that we have an opportunity and a responsibility to use our platform as an arts organisation to help people understand, reflect, take action and maybe even feel hope in the face of a crisis that can feel overwhelming.

We wanted to articulate the steps we’re taking to reduce our impact and reliance on carbon-emitting activities, and how we’re thinking about the climate crisis in relation to our programme.

We’ve worked with artist Rachael Clerke to write a new environmental policy, which we are publishing on our website. You can read or listen to the policy here.
