MAYK remains part of Arts Council England's National Portfolio 2018-22
We're thrilled that Arts Council England will continue to invest in MAYK's work for the period 2018-22 as part of the National Portfolio.
Arts Council England's National Portfolio is a collection of 831 organisations across the UK funded because they "bring new energy to the arts and cultural sector". MAYK was brought into the portfolio in 2015.
This funding makes a significant contribution towards us realising our four year plan to continue to offer Bristol a major international festival of contemporary theatre (Mayfest), alongside developing the producing work we do with visionary artists and companies outside of the festival. In 2018/19 alone we'll work with Still House, Sleepdogs, Firebird Theatre, Sam Halmarack, Sara Zaltash, Jo Bannon, the British Paraorchestra, Richard Allen and more.
Mayfest will return in 2018 as a biennial festival, welcoming artists from all over the world to the city. We will continue to work in partnership with organisations and venues across the city to make extraordinary things happen.
We're delighted that Arts Council England continues to recognise the value of the work that small organisations like MAYK bring to the wider cultural sector.
We can't wait to share that work with you, our audience, over the next four years.
