Demostage

Demostage is back. This time we’re joining forces with our friends at Bricks for an evening event at our home in St Anne's House on Thursday 16th February.

Book your free ticket here.

Demostage is an informal, temporary space for new ideas. Open to people who make creative projects of any kind (think theatre, music, games, sound, whatever), the event encourages collaboration, sharing and critical discourse.

Presenters have five minutes to present their idea to the room, followed by five minutes for us all to offer thoughts, feedback and ideas. This time we'll be welcoming:

Chloe Meineck, an artist, facilitator, researcher and maker discussing Queer communities of care – an arts project around mapping queer/ chosen communities of care.

Theatre-maker Rosie Mullaney, who is creating a biographical play about Dyslexia.

Multi-disciplinary artist Simon Day, whose theatre piece 'Drowned Summer' explores memory and rehabilitation through a re-telling of JG Ballard's classic 'The Drowned World'.

Kamina Walton discussing 'in my skin' (working title) – an exploration of the body as site for maternal grief, mother/daughter relationships, ageing and the powerful female body.

Demostage is free to attend. We’ll be providing refreshments throughout the event.

For audiences, Demostage is an opportunity to get a unique insight into how new creative ideas grow and to help artists make connections and develop their projects.

For artists, Demostage is a lightly-held, fun, and informal space to help you get unstuck, make progress and share your ideas with an audience.

This event will be BSL-interpreted by Nikki Harris.

St. Anne's House is wheelchair-accessible via a ramp with accessible toilets.

Demostage is a relaxed space and you are free to come and go as you please.

There is free parking at St. Anne's House.
