Raquel Meseguer Zafe

Raquel is a UK based dance theatre practitioner. She identifies as disabled and works with rest as a creative impulse. She would like to identify as a ‘crip’ artist (but doesn’t think she’s quite there yet).

Raquel founded Unchartered Collective in 2016 to make work that explores the lived experience of chronic pain. Her 2018 R&D A Crash Course in Cloudspotting was developed with an Unlimited award and exhibited at Southbank Centre & Cenart, National Centre for the Arts, Mexico City, sponsored by the British Council.

Raquel co-founded of Lost Dog and is currently a Lost Dog associate artist, working on Paradise Lost (Lies Unopened Beside Me), and Juliet + Romeo. Raquel also worked with Rachel Bagshaw on The Shape of the Pain, and with Amy Hodge on the Royal Exchange / Headlong production of Mother Courage.
